Social Urbanism

Grassroots, community based projects implemented through the Urban Clinic help to ground academic theory in reality and create real, immediate change in the communities we live in. Projects are initiated by Urban Clinic students, staff, and associates, and carried out in partnership with local leaders. Working with local school children, teens, professionals, and residents allows us to activate social urbansim in Jerusalem.

The Urban Clinic aims to focus the latest academic knowledge on real world applications, and use those experiences to feed knowledge back into academic realms. We believe that a constant, dual feedback loop is the best way to forward progressive, equitable planning ideals. We decided to call ourselves a ‘clinic’ because it’s important to us to ensure that our actions reach outside of academia and remain practical, applicable, and impactful.
