Course: Social Consultants in Urban Regeneration Projects

A collaboration between the Urban Clinic, the Jerusalem Urban Renewal Authority “Moriah”, the Jerusalem Municipality and the Welfare Office brought about an opportunity to initiate a first of its kind innovative course for social advisors on urban regeneration issues.

The course began in November 2016 and included eight sessions, in which twenty participants explored the role of the social consultant by learning theories and methods in planning and urban renewal and by acquiring tools for establishing agreements among residents. The social consultant has a key role in implementing social and communal considerations in urban renewal processes, and is crucial for the qualitative integration of the projects in social fabric surrounding it.
