Yaara is an architect, urban planner, and Ph.D. candidate at Ben Gurion Univerity. She joined the Clinic in 2015 as a lecturer in the Clinic Internship course and project coordinator. For over a decade, she has participated in planning teams that determined national policy on metropolitan parks, environmental protection policy for beaches, and local and regional master plans. Today she is the lead planner on the East Jerusalem planning team and assists on projects that deal with aspects of informal settlements, mainly in the Negev. Additionally, she has years of experience lecturing at Hebrew Univerity, Betzalel, and Ben Gurion University. She has won numerous academic prizes, including an outstanding research prize in 2013, granted by the Isreal Planners Association, a scholarship from the President for excellence and academic research, and others. More recently, Yaara is focusing on mediating the needs and goals of communities and land scarcity in the Israeli Planning system.
